Web Developer

The George A. Romero Foundation (GARF) is looking for an experienced web developer who will be responsible for coding, designing, and maintaining the Foundation’s website. He/she/they will be working alongside the Marketing Communications Team and will report directly to the Website Manager. This is a volunteer position and requires 5-7 hours dedicated to projects weekly, including a weekly all team stand-up meeting and biweekly Marketing Communications Team meeting.

 Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience working with CSS
• 1+ year working with HTML & JavaScript
• 1+ year working with Wordpress
• Experience optimizing a website with multiple Wordpress plugins
Preferred:
• Experience with creative tools such as Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or Photo Editors like GIMP
• Experience in Digital Marketing and SEO
• Experience with Nonprofits
• Experience communicating with multiple team members across different time zones (the Content & Website Manager is based in the UK)

Social Media Manager


The George A. Romero Foundation (GARF) is looking for an experienced social media manager to support The GARF’s “mascot,” Garchy. He/she/they will be working alongside the Marketing & Communications Team and will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. This is a volunteer position and requires 5 hours dedicated to projects weekly, including a weekly all team stand-up meeting and joining biweekly Marketing & Communications Team meetings. 

Responsibilities:
• Plan and maintain a social media content calendar for Garchy, updated monthly
• Manage broadcast posts and 1:1 engagement posts on Garchy’s social media channels, including Twitter, Tiktok, and Instagram
• Collaborate with the team on graphics for Garchy (static, GIFs, and Tiktok videos)
• Conduct monthly reports of Garchy content to establish what performs well vs. what needs to be optimized
• Keep up with trends within the industry to regularly engage with peers and notable influencers within the horror community
• Setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for Garchy-focused social media campaigns 

Qualifications:
• At least one year of experience managing multiple social media channels
• Knowledge and interest in the horror genre and industry
• Familiarity in the use of social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Sprinklr
• Graphic design experience is a plus but not required 

The GARF, founded by Suzanne Romero, is dedicated to honoring George A. Romero’s legacy through preserving and restoring his work while also elevating a new generation of upcoming filmmakers through programs and grants. We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about the mission and will help us elevate The GARF Network through quality shows featuring horror legends and up-and-comers.

Producer/Editor (Seeking multiple candidates)

The George A. Romero Foundation (GARF) is looking for experienced editors and producers who will be responsible for recording, editing, and mixing of various episodes for The GARF Network’s shows including GARF 247, Horror Unbound, Insiders, and Horror X. He/she/they will be working alongside the Marketing Communications and GARF Network Teams and will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer. This is a volunteer position and requires 5-7 hours dedicated to projects weekly, including a weekly all team stand-up meeting and, when necessary, joining in biweekly Marketing Communications Team meetings.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct the actual editing of raw recordings of the episodes by editing video, audio, adding clips, splicing clips, and process enhancements.
• Review recordings and facilitate cutting things out or adding things in episodes.
• Ensure that the Podcast was polished before publishing.
• Collaborate with the team on how to improve the quality of the sound and video of the shows.
• Conduct content editing by making editorial choices on the recordings to objectively choose the right parts to be included or excluded.
• Ensure the quality of the audio and video does not compromise the content (while understanding the current virtual state for guests).
• Diagnose technical issues.
• Attend virtual recordings to manage when needed.

Qualifications:
• At least three years of experience recording and editing videos and preferably virtual series or video podcasts.
• Knowledge and interest in the horror genre and industry.
• Familiarity in the use of editing software such as but not limited to Pro Tools.
• Knowledge in taking and editing raw files, and other audio/video formats.
